This cardinal was born into the ice storms of early 2022, and so is set in imagery drawn from them: limbs and pine needles wrapped in ice, icicles dripping in the blue cavern the woods momentarily became, and the silver that everything transformed into when the sunlight reached through it. The beaded rope is a rendering of a birch branch enrobed in ice.
